Utilising Australian experiences and working to make them internationally digestible, Gabrielle Leavesley’s work is characterised by the marrying of unlikely objectives, the use of memories that people love to hate, and is always served with a side of humour.
Gabrielle focuses on building her body of work around changing the perceptions of individuals in relation to how they consume and understand fashion. Working towards sustainable change in the industry, she uses her practice to create conversation; educating and raising awareness by helping to break down barriers that prevent the discussion of difficult topics. Gabrielle also encourages and curates individual involvement, believing that change can be affected through associations created using ideas and innovation built through unbridled imagination.
Gabrielle Leavesley completed the Bachelor of Fashion (Design)(Honours) at RMIT University in 2016.
